Mar. 28 - Photo Scanning Will Begin Today

Hello.  It's 26 and clear on this Tuesday morning in Wisconsin, heading for a high in the low 40s today.  Yay for more melting!  They say we might get an inch of snow tonight, which sucks, but it keeps getting warm enough during the day to keep the melting going.  And 50s by the end of the week!

Yesterday was rather uneventful.  I went to my mom's and took care of all her usual things like groceries and laundry.  We played Yahtzee.  Brother3 kept talking about dictators and communism.  I have no idea what's gotten him on that kick.  I'm so not interested in that stuff and tend to just nod and let him talk.  Brother1 is like that too, always wanting to complain about the government.  My mom just blames everything on the president, and I mean everything.  It's no wonder I don't talk much with family anymore.  lol

No word yesterday from the garage that's working on Hubby's truck.  I suggested he call them, but he's all "Nah, they're probably still trying to track down the problem."  Maybe, but considering the appointment was at 7:30am I would think they'd have called with some sort of update by the end of the day.  Maybe they called a wrong number and have waiting, and now it's sat there a full day when the work could have been done?  I sent him a message to call them on his first break, just to be sure.  He probably won't.

I will finally be starting my photo scanning project today.  I have it partly set up here next to me, just have to clear some things off my desk and move the printer/scanner a bit closer, then I'm ready to go.  This will get done!  I'm not worried about printing things yet.  I just want to get all the old physical photographs scanned and saved on a flashdrive for easier access.  At some point later I will start printing stuff to make photo albums for each of the boys.  They've never been into looking back at old photos or sentimental about things but when I think of the fact that they don't have any family photos in their homes it just doesn't seem right.  Maybe they'll just shove the photo albums I make into the back of some dark closet, never to be seen again, but at least they'll have them.

So now that I've said this scanning project will begin today, I am going to post this and begin it.  Let's see how far I get!

  1. Hello my Lovely! We've still been getting little dustings of snow - but overall it's finally getting more mild and starting to melt - thank the Lord!! Lol
I'm SO excited for your photo scanning project! And the books for the boys. If only you lived closer...we could do scrapbook days together. ;) Gab and work on projects. I'm cheering you on from afar! Have fun with it. Blessings on the rest of your week. xoxo

    1. Well I'm glad your snow is melting and you might see some spring weather, not still be melting and digging out in June. lol

Thanks for cheering me on! I didn't get as much done as I'd hoped on the first day, but now that I've actually started I'm determined to see it though. I've never actually done any scrapbooking. Sometimes I think I'd like to, other times I'm like nah, just get the dang pics put into a photo album. Gabbing and working on projects sounds fun though!

    2. I think it's so wonderful you took the steps to get the process started. And I believe you will get it done due to being so determined. 😊 I completely get the overwhelming feeling of scrapbooking. I think the biggest thing I would urge you to do - that is a big part of my scrapbooking - is write down some memories that go with the photos. Yes, scrapbooking is often cute background papers, stickers etc. But the biggest thing to me is that i write down memories or stories that my kids will have in my handwriting to look back on one day. I think that's what makes it special. 💗

    3. I agree about writing memories along with photos. I think that's why Project Life interested me more than traditional scrapbooking, because it incorporated equally cute journal cards. I don't really like the style of scrapbooking where most of the page is just fancy papers and embellishments and a tiny little photo is somewhere in there. I'd much rather have the photos be that focus. But since I don't scrapbook at all I guess I have no room to judge or complain. LOL

  2. We are supposed to have a few hours of snow again tomorrow...
Good luck on the scanning. I need inspiration on doing that myself.

    1. Hopefully your snow fizzles out. If it's what we had that's coming to you, it was nothing but a few flakes.

      Here's your inspiration: DOOOOO IT!!!!!
Seriously, once I started yesterday I was on a roll. Now I don't know why I've put it off all these years. Only reason I quit yesterday was because of some eye troubles I'm having at the moment. I'm anxious to get back at it!
